As boys move up the School they have the opportunity to focus on the subjects that appeal to them most whilst also developing their knowledge and understanding of the core curriculum essential to all. Boys at the Vaughan take between 10 and 13 GCSES.
During their GCSE years all boys study the following subjects:

- Greek (only available to those studying Latin)

- Physical Education (GCSE)
- Spanish
Statistics (only available to those studying Mathematics in the top set)
Triple Science (i.e. Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
