Once again the Vaughan has exceeded previous record results at GCSE and A Level

Headmaster

The Vaughan has long enjoyed a position of national prominence in terms of the high performance of its pupils in public examinations: year after year the School tops national league tables, regularly outperforming many selective and fee-paying schools.

Its success is attributable to its unapologetically traditional outlook: we expect hard work from pupils and staff, and support from the parents. Regular homework in all subjects is set to support classwork. High standards of discipline are expected and enforced. This traditional approach, however, does not mean that the School looks backwards – on the contrary, pupils’ learning is supplemented by state-of-the-art technology. The Vaughan is, therefore, traditional in the best sense of the term: retaining the best of the old, it adopts of the best of the new.

At the heart of the School’s success, however, lies its Catholic ethos, which underpins all that it does. It is this ethos, to which all members of the School – staff, pupils and parents – subscribe, which binds us all together, creating a sense of unity. This unity of outlook leads to a clearly defined sense of purpose, which creates real momentum. The results of this are plain for all to see.
