The Vaughan is blessed with a vigorous and dedicated Parents' Association, whose aim is to raise funds for the School, to assist with extra-curricular events when required and to ensure that visitors are catered for when they come to the School for scheduled events.
The VPA’s main fundraising events during the academic year are: general Christmas festivities; St Patrick’s Evening; an Evening with the Big Band; the Auction of Promises; and the Summer Fête. Its members also provide refreshments at all concerts, including the St Cecilia Concert in St Paul’s, Hammersmith and the Annual Carol Service at Our Lady of Victories, Kensington.
In the past few years the VPA has donated money to: the ICT Department to help to renovate premises and update equipment; the Art Department for the purchase of materials; the Music Department for replacing instruments; and to and the School Library. In addition to this, the VPA has assisted various charities, including the HCPT – The Pilgrimage Trust. In 2004, the VPA donated £100,000 to the new Vaughan Music facilities.
The Headmaster recently described the VPA parents as “the backbone of the School”. Their hard work and commitment have been instrumental in enabling the School constantly to improve the standards of the service it offers to pupils and their parents.
