Update on Academy Status

Update on Academy Status

We are working closely with the Diocesan Education Service to secure the twin objectives of CVMS becoming an academy and its full and active membership of the Catholic family of schools.  We have now made a formal application to the Diocese of Westminster to become an academy and our solicitors are collating the documents we will need to submit to the DfE. If all goes well, we hope to become an academy next term.

Let me stress that on a day-to-day level, there would be no discernible difference when we become an academy, apart from a demonstrably stronger link with one or two other schools situated in the Diocese and the benefits that would flow in from the increased funding which the school would receive. The name of the school would not change. This principle extends to all other areas of school life: for example, there are no plans for changes in the arrangements for the curriculum, for admissions, for special educational needs, for pupil discipline and so on.

Please feel free to check back on the school website for further updates.
