Chifundo Foundation, Malawi - can you help?

Five of our current and former teachers are heading to Malawi this summer to teach at the Chifundo Foundation summer school. Founded in 2007, Chifundo is dedicated to the education of some of the most underprivileged children in the villages of Zomba, Malawi. Chifundo means 'mercy' in Chichewan, the language of Malawi.

Here's a video made by our Head of Maths, Mr Cardozo, after he visited in 2016: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvBcXwHuI1g

Public education is universally free but poorly resourced, and the Foundation always welcomes the following donations:

  • any stationery and art supplies
  • football or other sports jerseys (for age 5 - 16 preferably)
  • laptop computers
  • any easily transportable games, sports equipment and toys

On their last visit, our teachers presented football shirts to the boys and girls for their effort in class on each day. We are therefore asking for donations of football shirts (new and old), which the volunteers can take with them and distribute to the children in their classes. Please email hmpa@cvms.co.uk if you are able to help, or hand in any donations to Reception.

Thank you for your support.
