Helping the community with PPE shortages

We are delighted that Cardinal Vaughan has been able to help the wider community in these strange times by making use of some of the equipment we are lucky enough to have at school to help bridge the gaps in PPE shortages around London.

Our Science Department has donated 100 pairs of safety goggles to Homerton Hospital to assist their frontline workers.  Meanwhile, our DT & Art Department has been hard at work using our laser printer to begin to produce face-shields for workers who are based in care homes, or workers who have to make home visits to take care of elderly patients. So far, over 200 shields have been created, and we are delighted that the first batch of these has been delivered to local residential nursing home Nazareth House.  The Department is aiming to reach a target of 120 per day which can be passed along to local services in need of the extra equipment.  We therefore invite any organisation in need of face-shields to get in contact with the Headmaster's PA, Ms Ulcickas, who can be reached on hmpa@cvms.co.uk, and are especially grateful to DT Technician Mr Stewart and the Head of DT & Art, Ms Hellier, for leading on this project.
