Giving Day 2024

At the end of the first half term, the school held its third, and most successful, Giving Day to date. Through a series of sponsored In-School Activities and Community Challenges, thanks to the support of our wider Vaughan community of pupils, parents, past parents, alumni, staff and friends we raised an astonishing £70,000 for the Love & Service Fund. Thank you so much. We couldn't have done it without you! These donations will help us achieve our goals in our 110th year.

Giving Day launched our CVMS CX campaign. This campaign focuses on three key areas: maintaining our enhanced teaching efforts, restoring the chapel to its central role in the school and refurbishing the toilets. We need to raise £110,000 to achieve this and as a result of this Giving Day, we are over halfway there!

As well as raising vital funds for the school, Giving Day was also about bringing the community together and celebrating our school. Over the the 36-hours:

★ Our community collectively read over 5,000 pages, unlocking over £700 from the Vaughan Parents Book Club.

★ Our Head Boy, Keeran, smashed the school's Block Run record with an astonishing time of 3 minutes 21 seconds, 14 seconds faster than the record!

★ We were visited by Olympic bronze medallist and Vaughan alumna, Georgia Bell (OV 2012) to cheer on our community as they crossed the finish line in the Community Block Run

★ We took part in 11 In-School Challenges - from Blitz Chess to Staff vs Sixth Form Volleyball to a Fifa Tournament

★ We heard from four fantastic student bands and were treated to a special performance from our very own staff band in the Vaughan's first ever Battle of the Bands competition

The Giving Day continued into half term with Second Form pupil, Adrian P-B, embarking on a personal challenge to walk the Camino from Rubiaes (Portugal) to Santiago de Compostela, covering a distance of 132 km over 7 days to raise funds for Giving Day. This was a remarkable journey of faith and determination and as a school, we are incredibly grateful to Adrian and very proud of his achievement.
