CVMS Pupil Ranks Top 20% in OxBright Essay Competition

Congratulations to Lower Sixth Form pupil Giorgio M L, who was Highly Commended in the OxBright Essay Competition 2024. OxBright, by the Oxford Scholastica Academy, exists to inspire students to succeed, find their purpose and make a difference in the world. They do this by offering courses, internships, conferences and resources for teenagers, and you can find out more on their website.

Giorgio wrote a brilliant essay answering, "How does collaboration in Computer Science & Coding support social impact and innovation?" The panel of judges were very impressed with Giorgio’s essay, nominating it as Highly Commended and ranking it within the top 20% of a competitive field of over 1000 entries. Giorgio received a Certificate of Achievement and has won a free place at an OxBright academic conference.

Entering an Essay Competition is a great way to prepare for university applications, think deeply about a topic beyond the school curriculum, and widen your academic horizons. OxBright warmly welcomes entries from Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School for future Essay Competitions, and any students who are interested can find out more
