Computer Science Pupils Lead Programming Workshop at Local Primary School
On Tuesday, 20 February, a group of Lower Sixth Computer Science pupils visited St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Chelsea, part of the Saint John Southworth Catholic Academy Trust, to deliver programming sessions to the Year 5 and 6 pupils. The pupils learned how to program in Python and how to use Micro:Bits to output their creations. All the pupils enjoyed the experience, and our Sixth Formers were excellent representatives of the school.
Dr Lanigan, Assistant Head, comments: “The computing workshops offer an excellent opportunity for providing practical programming experience and for Year 5 and 6 pupils to engage with Sixth Formers studying the subject, hopefully sparking an interest that may see them begin their own Computer Science journey.”
We look forward to more partnership sharing events like this within the Saint John Southworth Catholic Academy Trust.
