Public Examination Results 2018
Many congratulations to staff and pupils, who worked so hard to produce such wonderful results.
A-Level
- 20.5% of all grades were A*.
- 51.6% of grades were A* & A.
- A third of the year group of 164 pupils got three A grades or higher.
- 59% of the year group secured grades AAB or higher.
- 14 pupils attained entry into Oxford and Cambridge.
- The Vaughan is, according to The Times, the top state Catholic comprehensive in the country and the second highest-performing overall.
GCSE
- 10.6% of all grades were 9 – three times the national average for boys.
- Three pupils achieved grade 9 in all subjects.
- 28.7% of grades were 9 & 8 – three times the national average for boys.
- 55.5% of grades were 9, 8 or 7 – three times the national average for boys.
- The Progress 8 score looks set to exceed 0.6.
These results are no flash in the pan: they stem from rigorous and demanding teaching by our staff, sustained hard work on the part of our pupils and unwavering support from our parents.
