Jack Petchey's "Speak Out" Challenge Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster Regional Final

Published Thursday 16 January 2025

We were delighted to host the Jack Petchey's "Speak Out" Challenge Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster Regional Final here at The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School yesterday.

Three Cardinal Vaughan pupils featured in the regional final for young public speakers. The Jack Petchey's "Speak Out" Challenge is an initiative launched in 2006 which aims to help students find their voices and show their capabilities to their peers and communities.

The school entered Fourth Form pupils, Tom F, Arthur G, and Tiago A-M. All performed extremely well, with Arthur winning third place and Tiago placing first overall!

Congratulations to our speakers and thank you to Toby Y, Fifth Form, the "Speak Out" reigning champion for hosting the evening, and Upper Sixth Form pupils Paul R, trumpet, and Lucas G, cello, for the musical interlude. Extra special thanks to Joe Powell, MP for Kensington & Bayswater, for joining us for this special event.
