Six Form pupils edit the youth edition of leading Catholic magazine
We’re proud that our Sixth Formers have been selected to guest edit the latest edition of The Tablet inspire, the international Catholic quarterly for young adults. Guided by Miss O’Connell (Assistant Headteacher), the pupils use the opportunity to reflect on their experiences of being at a Catholic school.
The edition also includes interviews by our pupils with students from Corpus Christi Catholic College in Nigeria, reflecting on the huge challenges that Catholics there face in practising their faith, yet at the same time finding common ground in the values instilled by a Catholic education. The interviews with the students in Nigeria have grown out of a broader partnership which has been set up with the school through the charity Aid to the Church in Need.
Mr Paul Stubbings, Headmaster, comments: “Under the expert guidance of Miss O’Connell, our Sixth Formers have taken full advantage of this unique platform in one of the world’s most prestigious Catholic publications to thoughtfully examine what it means to be a young Catholic in today’s world. Well done to all those who have taken part and thank you to the editorial team at The Tablet for the opportunity.”
