Mr Brett (Head of First Form) and Ms Georgiakakis (Teacher of Classics) are setting themselves a series of physical challenges to raise funds for the Vaughan Foundation.

Ms Georgiakakis will take on the Ride London 100 in May – a cycle of 100 miles - the 2-mile Swim Serpentine event in Hyde Park in September and the London Marathon next year, which together make up the London Classics trio of events.

Meanwhile, Mr Brett ran the Milan Marathon in the holidays, as well as the London Marathon in the this month!

Mr Brett comments: “I am delighted to raise awareness and financial support for the Vaughan Foundation, which continues to support the Physical Education department and wider school life by providing specialist equipment and enhancing our pupils’ experience at the school through their invaluable assistance with providing extra-curricular opportunities.”

Ms Georgiakakis adds: "I'm greatly enjoying training for these events and I'm thrilled to be able to combine this with fundraising for school. I'm a big believer in the power of physical activity for empowering everyone to feel more energised, motivated and happy, and I hope that Mr Brett and I will inspire pupils to continue to push themselves and take on new challenges."

Mr Stubbings adds: “It’s truly the mark of a very special school when our teachers go to such lengths to fundraise to help their pupils. Good luck to Mr Brett and Miss Georgiakakis – and thank you.”
