The Moment Malakai Took the Nation's Breath Away

Congratulation to Malakai Bayoh, Third Form, who performed in this year's Britain's Got Talent final.

The Vaughan community are all so very proud of Malakai. He has been such an inspiration to young singers across the world. He is a true talent. Thanks to the guidance and ambition of Vaughan's Director of Music, Mr Price.

Malakai auditioned for the show earlier this year, performing Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s arrangement of Pie Jesu. In his audition, he received the 'Golden Buzzer' from lead judge Simon Cowell which sent him straight through to the live semi-finals where he performed O Mio Babbino Caro by Puccini.

In the live final which aired last night, Malakai performed a stunning rendition of Caruso alongside are very own Cardinal Vaughan's Schola Cantorum. His performance had the audience truly breath taken and brought judge Bruno Tonioli to tears, claiming Malakai had a "gift from God".

Over the last few weeks, our school social media accounts have been inundated with messages of support for Malakai from retired teachers, parents, and alumni. Malakai has brought the whole school community together and he has inspired a nation with his love of Opera.
