1st XV Make School History
Published Monday 25 November 2024
Congratulations to the 1st XV who won their rugby fixture against Tiffin School in the final of the London and South East area. This was round 6 of the National Vase Competition and their victory has progressed them into the National Quarter-Final, making them the first team from our school to reach this level of the competition.
This was a tough and very competitive game but tries by Thomas A and Finn G gave Cardinal Vaughan an unassailable lead. A well taken penalty by Tadhg F meant that Cardinal Vaughan took the win by 18 points to 11.
Mr Leigh, Head of Extra-Curricular Physical Education, commented: "This was an unbelievable team effort built on a very solid defence. The sheer energy and determination of the players meant that this team has gone further into a National Rugby Cup than any other team in our school history."
Well done to all the players and to Mr Leigh, and thank you to all the members of the school community who came to watch.
