Celebrating Classics at the Vaughan
Today we will host a day celebrating the study of Classics and the role it plays in our school and the wider world, featuring a host of speakers ranging from leading academics to the BBC podcaster and Classicist Natalie Haynes.
Academics from the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford and Nottingham will be giving speeches during the day, as will former pupils who are current undergraduates reading Classics at Oxford and Cambridge. In addition, Vaughan alumni who went on to read Classics at University will be sharing their perspectives on how it has shaped their lives and careers.
The event, which will open with a video address from Dame Mary Beard, will be led by Headmaster Mr Stubbings and Miss Davies-Evitt, Head of Classics and Higher Education Co-ordinator
