Last Friday, Vaughan pupils, their families, and members of the wider community attended Foundation Day Mass at Westminster Cathedral. It was a wonderful occasion for our community to gather and celebrate the school's 110 year anniversary.
Thank you to Monsignor Roger Reader for leading the service and to the staff at Westminster Cathedral. Well done to our readers, Scarlett P, Head Girl, Keeran S, Head Boy, Finn K, First Form, Douglas C, Second Form, Senay Y, Third Form, Tom F, Fourth Form, and Jacob G, Fifth Form.
The music at the Mass was led by the Schola and the Senior Brass Ensemble, both of which added greatly to the occasion. The Schola sang a motet composed for the choir by Sir James MacMillan in 2014 to mark the School’s centenary as well as Rheinberger’s Mass in E flat.
We were delighted to see our community of governors, parents, and alumni, who joined us to celebrate our foundation in Cardinal Vaughan’s Cathedral in the presence of the mortal remains of Cardinal Vaughan.
