Lower Sixth Form Pupil prepares for Henley
Published Monday 30 June 2025
We are thrilled to share that Lower Sixth Form pupil, Thalia W, has been selected to represent Tideway Scullers School, in the eight at Henley Royal Regatta, held on the famous course on the Thames at Henley. The prestigious regatta, which takes place from 1 to 6 July, features over 400 races of international standard.
Thalia is competing in the Prince Philip Challenge Trophy, which is an event specifically for women’s eights from clubs or secondary schools, where 24 crews, from around the world, will compete in knockout format, with the winners from each race advancing to the next round until the final.
This is an exciting and challenging experience for all the rowers who have followed intensive training and competition for a seat in the boat. Thalia trains 6 days a week, both before and after school, often waking up at 5am to cycle down to the rowing club. Training is intensive and includes on-water sessions, gym work and ergos.
We wish Thalia the very best of luck and look forward to sharing the club’s progress over the next week.
