Malakai Bayoh Signed by Universal

The news is out that Malakai Bayoh has been signed by Universal, joining the likes of Stevie Wonder, U2, The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra and Luciano Pavarotti! Malakai's debut album, entitled 'Golden', will be released in a few weeks time.

Malakai commented: "I can’t believe my dream has come true. And I’m signed to the record company with the biggest opera stars in the world!"

The record contains performances of the music Malakai sang on Britain's Got Talent alongside other tracks, including a new arrangement of Sir Karl Jenkins' Benedictus which the composer has created specially for Malakai. Sir Karl conducts this track on the album.

The album features the voices of the Vaughan Schola Cantorum with orchestral accompaniment provided by the London Mozart Players, conducted by Mr Price, Director of Music at Cardinal Vaughan.

The first track, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Pie Jesu, was released yesterday and received its radio premiere on Alexander Armstrong’s morning programme on Classic FM. Lord Lloyd Webber attended one of Malakai's recording sessions and has been very supportive of his singing having heard his 'Golden Buzzer' performance of Pie Jesu. Since the video of Malakai's BGT initial audition was released in April it has been viewed more than 55 million times.
