Sigur Rós at the Royal Albert Hall

Boys from the School took part in an extraordinary collaboration, performing with Icelandic rock group Sigur Rós at the Royal Albert Hall. Forty members of the Schola appeared alongside the London Contemporary Orchestra in four sold-out concerts at the historic venue.
Opening night drew high praise from The Guardian, which described how “a boys’ choir are illuminated to the side of the stage, the crescendo is so huge as to be totally irresistible... the energy spilling over into something genuinely sublime.”
Soloist Malakai Bayoh was singled out for particular acclaim, delivering what the paper called “a stunning vocal solo that cuts through the slow drift of first-half closer Varðeldur like a knife through butter.”
With capacity audiences and widespread critical recognition, the engagement is proving a memorable highlight in the boys’ musical journey.
