Sixth Form Pupil Plays for Team GB in European Baseball Championships

Published Thursday 10 October 2024

Earlier this year, Sixth Form pupil, Erik G, played for Team GB in the U18 European Baseball Championship, a biennial, under-18 international baseball tournament sanctioned and created by the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB).

Team GB placed fourth out of 12 teams in the competition, the highest finish ever for GB at this age category! This is an extraordinary achievement and we are incredibly proud of Erik and his team's success.

Erik commented: "It was an amazing experience and an incredible honour to play for the national team at such a high level."

Mr Murphy, Head of Physical Education, commented: "Erik, along with his brothers, has always shown a passion for baseball. We were thrilled to hear of his recent representative honours in the sport and the success he had at the European Championships out in Germany. Being one of the captains of the side will hopefully assist him in his ambitions to continue his education in the USA College system, we wish him all the best in that pursuit."
