Congratulations to Upper Sixth Form pupil, Alex R, who has received the John La Rose Award from Haringey Council. The award scheme aims to support pupils in higher education by providing them with additional funding.
From 80 applicants, we are thrilled to announce that he was selected to receive the grant. Alex was selected for his community work in Haringey with his parish soup run, where he organises the bread collection from local shops, and with Haringey music service, which he has been part of since he was 8 years old.
Alex commented: "The interviewers were also really impressed by all the opportunities I get at The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, so thank you."
During the Haringey Schools Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall, where he played the horn as part of an orchestra accompanying over 1000 primary school children, Alex was told that he was the recipient of the award. Well done Alex!
