Teacher Training

Are you interested in a career in teaching?

At the Vaughan you are choosing to start your career in one of the most successful comprehensive schools in the country. Our success is a reflection of our belief in being innovative whilst staying true to those traditions which have stood the test of time. Central to our mission is an unwavering commitment to developing the full potential of all members of the Vaughan community, both pupils and teaching professionals alike. From the outset your professional development will be firmly rooted in a supportive environment where you will be trained and mentored by highly experienced colleagues dedicated to helping you achieve your goal of becoming an outstanding teacher.

We made this video in which we speak to our current School Direct trainees, Newly Qualified teachers, Headteachers and School Direct programme leaders to find out what it's really like to train to teach on the RBTSA School Direct teacher training programme. Click play now and find out more:

Enhanced School Experience Mornings

We offer a series of enhanced school experience days which provide an opportunity to meet with teachers, past trainees and pupils to help those considering a career in teaching gain an insight into the life of a busy and successful school. This will include an opportunity to observe lessons and to meet with school leaders who will guide you in what it takes to provide outstanding teaching and learning. These visits will also provide an opportunity to ask questions about the teacher training and the opportunities we and our partner schools can offer.
